Will Mass Effect 3 break the sales record of $775 million in five days set by Modern Warfare 3? With many stores running out of preorder allocations I'm thinking it has a chance.

You should still be able to preorder the regular edition of the game but the collectors edition is pretty much sold out everywhere.

I think it might come close, but beating MW3 seems pretty unlikely.
From what I see, ME2 had 2 million sales its first week. (Doesn't include sales from the PS3 release week.)
And MW2 had 4.7 million sale in 24 hours while MW3 had 6.5 million. If ME3 can beat MW3 it'll have been quite a feat, in my opinion.

They won't beat MW3. First Person Shooters have a much larger fan base than RPGS. Mass Effect might win in the END, but not right off the bat on release.
