"We're more than glad to have you working with us, especially for the price we're paying you." The Alpha Legionnaire greeted Angmar Nazith. Both Astartes were walking across the halls of a massive Space Hulk on the edge of the Trandasin System. The Hydra's Maw.

The former Word Bearer, now renegade Warpsmith, had been escorted to meet with the Commander of the vessel, currently under-going repairs, and now spoke face to face with an Alpha Legionnaire by the name Zailo Ranz, of course that was probably just an alias. The bastards, always enjoying their many alibis.

Angmar only smirk beneath the reptilian helm and hood he wore. "It well be worth it, have no doubt." he assured the legionnaire as they walked on, him using the twisted barbed axe halberd as a walking stick. Lights from overhead gleamed off the polished surface of the obsidian like armor, with thousands upon thousands of words, prayers, litanties, and other dark literatures of devotion etched into the surface by his hand. Some covered by the black cloth he wore or by the white daemon claw ensigina on the shoulders. Cables trailed behind him as tendrils waved around behind him, each having a different tool of unknown purpose. He wondered why Zalio used these fronts, after all he had meet him personally before during the heresey. 'I suppose it's formalities.' he jested to himself as he walked on.

" In most cases, I'd show you to your quarters and let you settle yourself in, but there's to be a debriefing soon for the current operatives, and I would have you there to receive your own assignment as quickly as possible." Zailo informed, walking side by side and in step with the former word bearer. His own armor was hidden by a rather ragged cloak, his helm resembled a snarling serpent, the mouth grill fashioned into a razor fanged maw. His armor resembled scales in several places such as the knee joints and shoulder plates, colored in acid green. His power sword hung from his side, the blade etched in ruins that only those schooled in the lore of Chaos could understand. Those such as Angmar and Zailo.

He was always a bit fascinated with the armor details of the Alpha legion, something he should look into again when he had the chance. Although what really caught his eye were the runes of the blade. Perhaps this was Zalio, then again copies can be made and given out. "Which will hopefully answer that question, since that was kept in the dark during our negotiations." he said, referring to the assignment that was mentioned. In either case, he would rather be on his ship, with his host of deamon engines. But he could not be picky right now, especially with the possible rewards.

Zailo led Angmar on through the ship, eventually the two passed through what could be possibly the engineering bay. They walked above a raised gantry, hundreds of menials, enforcers, and marines working below them, assembling an assortment of weapons and ammo, repairing and refitting vehicles, and creating and "taming" new vehicles.

As he walked the gantry with Zalio, he could not help put looked down at the activity below with a critical eye. While the alpha legion had merit on organisation and such, there was room for improvement on their forging and their breaking of new engines. Then again, it's probably why his services were sought out for by Zalio. He moved onwards, interested to see what sort of work was ahead of him in this endeavour he took on.

Zilo led Angmar towards the Strategium aboard Deck Sigma, one of many amongst the Hydra's Maw, the hulk an amalgamation of over a two dozen imperial vessels fused together over the course of many millennium. The doors to the Strategium slid open before them, granting them passage into the chamber beyond.

There were several representatives present, all of them powerful Chaos Lords and Sorcerers, of but a few of the Warbands present. The most influential warbands were present amongst room. On one side of the large rectangular holo-table sat chaos lords of the Night Lords, Word Bearers , and Emperor's Children. On the other half sat representatives from the Death Guard, Black Legion, and Iron Warriors. A ring of human commanders surrounded the table as well, but they brokered no right to sit amongst the most powerful of the Dark God's followers, save for one of them, but he was absent and his seat on the table empty. Two chairs at the head of the table were empty as well, saved for Zailo and Angmar respectively.

'You truly have a grand operation in motion it seems.' he noted to himself as he walked into the room with Zalio. He was somewhat surprised to have a seat at the head with him and how many orginial traitor legions were summoned here. Much of it reminded him of much older times, the times where terra itself looked like it would fall. He shook himself from the memoires as he took his seat. That was probably one of the few inconvencies of his age, too many memories of forgotten glory.

"I am of the Alpha Legion, Angmar. When aren't the operations in a grand scale?" Zailo asked rhetorically, pointing out the habit and reputation of his legion."Although it does always please me to see so many of our cousins gathered in one place. It brings back memories doesn't?" He asked, as if reading the warpsmith's mind. The other lords nodded their heads to the two in a gesture of greeting and respect, well most of them anyway. The Emperor's Children Lord was in his own little world.

He nodded in agreement to zalio. "And not killing each other surprisingly, then again a World Eater is not here so that probably improved things." Angmar commented as he looked at the assembled representatives. Even without one from the world eaters or thousand suns here, it felt almost whole. "Although I'm not familiar with any of them." He admitted, none of the faces before him he knew.

He waved towards all of them with one hand" The majority of them participated in the Great War, so many millenia ago. Although, Lord Gerreon and Apostle Kravon are of the new blood, I believe." He gestured towards the Black legionnaire and Word Bearer respectively. Both of them eyed Zailo wearily, although Kravon, who remained helmeted, bore his eyes into the renegade warp smith.

'Oh fantastic.' he thought sarcasticlly to himself as he caught the glare from the word bearer. And not just a word bearer, a recent addition from what he has been told. This will prove....annoying to say the least. "This should be interesting." He simply noted as he sat there and waited for Zalio to begin.

"Ignore him Warpsmith, he is of a different breed..."Basque Grand advised with a slight chuckle. The Emperor's Children leaned back on his chair, his sheathed sword laid across his laps. He caressed the sheathe gently, as if tending to the monster within it.

"I beg your pardon, Grand? Is there something you wish to say?" Kravon snarled, his gaze torn away from the renegade towards the hedonistic warlord to his side." If so, then spit it out."

"Well I'm just simply stating an observation. I believe the Warpsmith him has been here since the beginning of the long war. Fighting the good fight for as long as any of us, save for you and Abbadon's proxy here..." Grond replied with a nod to the Black Legionnaire." I can only imagine that you must be feeling some form of petty resentment towards the man. Why? I don't know, nor do I care."

A number of dark mental tendrils bobbed and weaved in the air behind Angmar as he set, acting as extra eyes for him as he sat more upright. "Even with the blessings of both Lord Erebus and Lord Kor Phaeron on my departure from the legion, a number of Dark Apostles and their followers viewed it as me turning my back on Lorgar himself." he explained, but for Grand's sake, but for the word bearer's. Too many use any excuse to leverage power in the legion or to set in a certain way of viewing the works of Lorgar. "I am always willing to work with my brothers, but that will be up to the Apostle to decide when Lord Zalio deems it fit for me to do so." he said, looking directly into Kravon's eye's with his own warp tainted eyes.

"Whether you all see eye to eye with one another or not, hardly matters to me and I don't think it matters to our host either." The Iron Warrior cut in, a warlord by the name of Sorika Slaith. He was a very straight to the point fellow.

"Slaith is correct."Zailo confirmed, setting his hands down on the table." I don't care about your past histories, petty grudges, or foolish rivalries. I don't care whether you were here from the beginning of the Long War or entered halfway through."He pulled off his helm, setting it down on the table. Face unmasked, he was a bald legionnaire, his entire skull covered in scars, along with scriptures that seemed to move on their own. His dark green eyes were menacing." What I care about is the fate of this Crusade and how it is being prosecuted. Are we clear?" He growled, something unusual for the stoically calm Alpha Legion.

All of the Lords present nodded their heads.

Angmar was slightly surprised by the small crack in Zalio's demeanour. Now wither or not it was one on purpose for it's affect or a natural one was up for debate when it comes to an Alpha legionnare. He leaned toward the former. He nodded with the rest of the lords, wanting to get one with the operation now.

"Good. I've got enough head aches to deal with especially with those Gorgons, dealing with your petty squabbling is the last thing I want."Zailo went on, seemingly annoyed now. It was still hard to read if this was an act or real anger.

"Now then, I want operation status updates, those revolving around the upcoming assault on Ghota." He demanded, looking towards each of them in turn.Waiting for one of them to speak.

"The fleet has already been assembled, right now we're simply going through the loading process..."Slaith was the first to respond, the Iron Warrior pulling out a small hand portable holo-lithe projector." My Warriors are already under-seeing the transport and conveyance of our mechanized divisions from the Gustav, Forge World. We expect to be completed in the next 28 hours." He finished, tapping a button on the projector to switch it to the next model." Delving into the Forge World myself, further investigations showed that the world has schematics for both the Leman Russ standard chassis and the Malcador chassis. Both will be used."The Iron Warrior finished, shutting down the projector.

" Those will be useful for our human resources. It will boost morale to know that they have such powerful instruments at their disposal."Zailo nodded his head in approval, waiting for the next one." I wan ta copy of those schematics for both variants sent to my chambers and another for Angmar so that he may ..improve upon their design."

'That will be something I will have to ask about later.' he thought to himself after hearing about these 'Blood gorgons'. The chance of getting the actually schematics of two tanks is what took most of his attention. He was already drawing up ideas and improvements based on what the two were alone, even more when he has copies of the schematics.

Zailo glared at Angmar for a brief moment. The Alpha Legionnaire turned back to the Lords."Aside from our Mechanized Divisions, what of the human resources itself?" This was directed towards Black Legionnaire specifically.

Gerreon cleared his throat before starting" When we arrived in the system, the mortal forces we brought in with us ranged at around only 250,000, although these were of the best that Abbadon could spare. Most of them were former guard, so discipline and strategy were abundant compared to our usual forces..." He cut off briefly, referring to a standard mentally deranged cultist" Since then, we've had a massive influx of new blood. The majority of them are untrained will only act as meat for the grinders of course, but with training from both our own Astartes and former guard, the efficiency of our forces should increase ten fold."

Angmar kept silent this time around. He hand a few regiments, armoured and mechanized, of well trained former guard that made up his personal forces along with thousands of cultist/civilian workers in his ship, the Sammath Naur. He wasn't going to volunteer such resources only to be wasted without a single thought by the other lords. Besides, quiet a few of them became skilled craftsman in their own rights and earned his respect, even if they were only mortals.
