Yeah I think I'm with you Grimaldus. it does seem rather unnecessary, I mean it's not as if blanks aren't available. I guess they are going for realism though, but it is a bit too far.

I think I'm on the fence about it. On one hand using and operating weapons around ciivilians who don't know how to act around firearms is dangerous. On the other the weapons are being handled by marines who have fire disicpline. The movie looks pretty good though.

the weapons are being handled by navy SEAL, so yeah not worries there, but still ir real ammor, why not use blanks they are good and do not cause much troble. real ammo means more gander and more expenses. i was shock when i read the top comments, most people think its awesome :-/

It's totally unnecessary. Realism? It's a movie. You're going to use fake blood and injuries, you're not going to actually shoot anyone. So blanks serve the same exact purpose and are to 90% of the population indistinguishable on camera. If anything this 'real bullet' thing is a gimmick to draw attention to the film because audience members are going to say "OMG! Real bullets! AWESOME!" and go see it. As for the Navy SEAL part of it, yes they are experience and capable with their weapons, no debate there. But if you're shooting heavy quantities of ammo NOT on a range any number of mishaps can occur.

Absolutely idiotic.

Real ammo is cheaper than blanks lol. It's extreme but that's what Navy SEALs do. There not actually shooting at someone. The camera guys where all in place and they were in no danger what so ever. During their training SEALs use live people in their room clearing training. Now that is dangerous. I'm sure it was the SEALs who said we're using live rounds and not the movie guy's.

ಠ_ಠ Make a new thread if you want to talk about the movie, since it just came out (& because we haven't agreed how long it is before it become a Necro) I won't give a warning this time.
