Ok so I have completed the game, Upgraded all weapons, bought all perks, rated everything including weapon upgrades and I still haven't spent 250,000 Shards.

Any idea on how it could be easy to get this achievement?

does escalation count? or buy lots of assault and utilitiy tech would be all i could suggest

Nah Escalation has its own achievement for spending so much while playing Escalation. I cannot remember the amount required =/

Does anyone know of any levels where their is lots of Energon shards? I will do the Campaign again and again if needed =P

I never buy utility and tech. I never saw any point of them as Perks and Weapons I bought were more important. Especially when you upgrade the Path Blaster or Riot Cannon completely. Path Blaster - in every clip will get a super shot and Riot Cannon - Gets last shot in a clip that does 500% more damage =D

Spam the bruticus level, you fight practically nothing but shotgunners in there so you can rack up some MAD munnyzz, i spend about 10-12 minutes on hard in the area in front of the control bridge and i can rack up about 10000-15000 munnyzz from destroying wave after wave of shotgunners while hiding from those pesky turrets of course.

Bruticus levels were way too easy =P Just put up a shield and start smashing!

I will use that information later today when I go on to Transformers =D

also have you found all the blueprints? those help might be something to look into since you have to buy the gun once you find them.

Got all blueprints and all upgrades. I have even rated everything =P 
Just got the achievement =D

Had to spend some shards on Tech and equipment. So now I have completed the campaign fully. All I need to do is one of the Escalation maps and spend 100000 shards in there and I am over half way then all I need to do is multiplayer. Need to reach Prime mode, do some head hunter and Team death match so I can have all achievements.

But DLC will probably have Achievements with them....
