War is coming once more Brothers,

This will be the First of an ongoing series of battles, open to everyone here on GW. A weekend long Recreation of Horus's original betrayal.
I want to start where it all began brothers, with Horus himself.
I would propose THE DROPSITE MASSACRE as the first weekend of war.
Think of it as a chance to rewrite history, will the loyalist legions avoid eradication and force the Warmaster to rethink his betrayal?

This would unfold over the course of a weekend, allowing for an ample amount of gameplay.


Teams.
Brothers will sign up for the event, and be divided equally in half. (requests may be made for a specific side) For the sake of team balancing, (numbers, availability, and team cohesion) requests will ONLY THEN, be considered!
Once you have a side, you may choose represent any of the legions present during the original event. WHICHEVER LEGION YOU CHOOSE WILL. BE YOUR LEGION FOR THE DURATION.

The sides will be divided into squads of 4 to 8 based upon availability, and will have a legion forum to report discuss and plan their next moves.

As far as teams are concerned, I propose this:
If your faction was present during the battle, you have first dibs to play as them. You may choose not to, if you so desire, but your choice stays with you for the remainder of that event.
If your faction was not present, It would be a first come first serve fill in.

Now, with that being said I plan to have the sign up posted as of today.

It will be up until the end of the july tournament. During this time we, the officers will be assigning teams and squads.

The players will come from the sign up pool, they will choose Loyalist or Traitor. That is all. the above rule will then decide what faction they play for. This should help to diversify the teams.

As for the matches, I still think giving everyone the whole weekend to arrange matches works best. Once the teams are hammered out, players will have 2 weeks notice before the event begins. This should allow for plenty of time to work out scheduling and should also make for quite a packed challenge calender! If you have a chapter match on one of the days, schedule your "Heresy Relived" matches around it.

Gametypes:

Seize ground
Dreadnaught
Annihilation
Capture and control?

Squad leaders will report results to their officers. Screenshots!
Scores will be tracked, both by legion and by overall side.

I want to have as much of this recorded and posted as possible. ( for a highlight reel, and awards)

This would not start until after the July tournament wraps up.
